When I was painting, I could see the street downstairs through the window next to me. At that time, there were few people walking on the street all day long, and there were no cars. So, the street became a zoo in broad daylight. I saw a family of mice playing in the middle of the street in broad daylight. The whole family was free and happy. A wild cat was basking in the sun not far away. There were more birds, and occasionally I could see a few big birds whose names I couldn’t tell. It was very magical. It turned out that when people are not around, other animals really do increase in number. The streets under the sun changed their owners, and the world became wonderful. At that time, I began to care about the streets outside the window.
Hahaha, now let’s talk about this painting. Actually, I wanted to paint a terrazzo floor, so I created this piece. But it could also be interpreted as a reflection of how much I wanted to go out for a walk, to stroll down the streets and bask in the sun. As for the terrazzo floor, I spent a lot of time painting it—simply because I genuinely love it!
